What the lesson covers

  1. 0:00Almost every indicator is price rearranged. Volume is the exception.
  2. 0:05Why independence matters. Two indicators made from price agree by construction. Volume can genuinely disagree.
  3. 0:14What a breakout on low volume means. Price left the range but few people participated. The move has little behind it.
  4. 0:23On-Balance Volume. Add the day's volume when price closes up, subtract it when it closes down. Keep a running total.
  5. 0:32The flaw worth knowing. A bar that closes up a cent counts its entire volume as buying. That is a strong assumption.
  6. 0:40Read volume as participation, and OBV as its direction over time.
