What the lesson covers

  1. 0:00The stochastic asks one question: where did the close sit in the recent range?
  2. 0:05The question it answers. Closing at the top of the last fourteen bars gives a hundred. At the bottom, zero.
  3. 0:14Why it pins. A trend closes near its highs every day, so the reading sticks at the top and stays.
  4. 0:23Fast versus slow. The fast version reacts to every bar. The slow one smooths it and is what most people mean.
  5. 0:31Where it is genuinely useful. In a defined range, extremes mark the edges. In a trend, they mark strength.
  6. 0:38It is a range locator. Only a range makes its extremes meaningful.
