What the lesson covers

  1. 0:00A short seller does not owe money. They owe shares.
  2. 0:05The mechanics. Borrow the shares, sell them, and later buy them back to return them.
  3. 0:15Why the risk is uncapped. A stock can only fall to zero, but there is no limit to how far it can rise.
  4. 0:24The squeeze. Rising prices force shorts to buy, and their buying pushes the price further up.
  5. 0:33Reading short interest. Days to cover matters more than the raw percentage. It measures the exit width.
  6. 0:41The asymmetry is the whole story: unlimited one way, capped the other.
