What the lesson covers

  1. 0:00Some short selling rules do nothing until a stock is already falling hard.
  2. 0:05The locate requirement. Before selling short you must have reasonable grounds that the shares can be borrowed.
  3. 0:14The price trigger. Fall ten percent in a day and short sales are restricted to above the best bid.
  4. 0:24What it is meant to prevent. Short sellers driving a falling price down further by repeatedly hitting the bid.
  5. 0:33The buy-in risk. If the lender recalls the shares, your short can be closed for you at any price.
  6. 0:41The restrictions bite exactly when the position is working.
